Remote Laboratories

The term Remote Lab is used when referring to real experiments carried out from a remote location. This definition implies the control of real hardware and the realization of real measurements. There are different technologies available to perform a laboratory hardware control. Whether we use traditional laboratory equipment or PC based data acquisition cards, we are likely to rely on the use of virtual instrumentation to create applications and display data to the users. Virtual instrumentation enables less expensive hardware to replace complex and expensive equipment’s, due to the fact that the major part of the traditional hardware’s tasks is performed by software.
