Conduction

The term conduction
represents the heat transfer process that occurs across a stationary medium
which can be a solid or a fluid. This phenomenon takes place between two regions
of a medium, which have different temperature. The transfer of energy results
from the interaction of the medium particles.
Thermal conductivity represents the ability of a matter to transport heat. [9] This transport property has the symbol k and it is measured in the international system in [W/m*K].
