Introduction
The following work
describes an optical course which consists of a theoretical material, an
interactive remote experiment and exercises, part which will give a better understanding of
the introduced
concepts.
The theoretical part of
the course describes
the concept of a black body and its radiation, as well as the existence of the
phenomenon in real life and
in nature. Also some other physical parameters that would help you to understand
better the black body concept.
At the beginning you will
have to do some exercises on a simulation developed by the PhET,
University of Colorado. There you will be able to change the values of some
parameters and see some characteristics of black body using the “PhET Blackbody Spectrum”.
The experimental part of
the course provides the details of the online lab and the remote experiment
which allows students to have a better understanding of the natural process and
of a black body system.
The online laboratory will
be developed using LabVIEW software from National Instruments and integrated in
the Online Labs Network from Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS)
Villach, Austria (CUAS owns a license for LabVIEW Software).
