Virtual learning environments

In this section we introduce the Virtual Learning Environments, which create a virtual world. More specifically we will focus on Second Life online virtual world. However, this is not the only virtual world used widely in education.

Opensim: OpenSimulator is an open source multi-platform, multi-user 3D application server. It can host your virtual classroom on something as simple as a flash drive or scale up to thousands of users on a dedicated server.

SLOODLE is a free and open source project which integrates the multi-user virtual environments of Second Life® and/or OpenSim with the Moodle™ learning management system.
