The paper

Title: It
must be interesting enough to intrigue the reader and encourage reading of the text, and at the same time it should be
definite and describe the contents of the papers.
Author: You
should write your affiliation
Abstract: The paper should contain
an abstract. This is written at the end, when the text is ready, and we locate
it under the title, with smaller font (10 points). The abstract should not be
longer than 150 words (usually 5-8 sentences). The content should include the
answers for the questions: What is the work about? What is its research problem
and thesis ? What research methods were used? What did you achieve?
Introduction:
The introduction should encourage the reader to read the next paragraphs,
therefore remember to include some "catch" in it that will interest
the recipient. Indicate, what interesting research problem your writing covers
and why it may be attractive also for the reader. (You can start with an
anecdote, citation.) Clearly indicate the purpose of the text, what you are seeking
to achieve in it, why you took this particular subject? Point the reader
to the context of your considerations and their significance. Indicate who
undertook research in this subject, which are the latest and the most important
for your work. Present in the introduction the state of research regarding the
problem taken by you (who dealt with it, what were the results of these
studies, how much your studies are the continuation, development of the
described problem and why - and to what extent - the problem deserves and
requires the further study) . Discuss the deployed literature and prove that
you are knowledgeable in the subject. Indicate what the following parts of your
text contain - "draw" a map for a reader that will help him to go
through your text.
Methodology: Determine what sources your
research material is from (newspaper,
iconography, film, documentary, chronicles, letters, diaries, interviews,
etc.). Indicate which method or theory has been used by you to analyze and
interpretation of the research material. What are the possible restrictions, if
any? Summarise this method/ theory. (In case of archival research the external
and internal criticism of source is at stake - to establish the authenticity
and credibility.)
Presentation and analysis of the sources: It is good to share the relevant text of publication in smaller parts, thematically
uniform with their own titles. It gives the impression that the writer of the
text controls it well and knows what he wants to write. In addition, it is much
easier to read.
The analysis of the source is the
basis and the main part of your work,
which shall point out your historical knowledge. The analysis starts from the
detailed description of the source ("deep reading").
Argument and interpretation: The main part of the paper is the
interpretation of the source. "Deep reading" of the source (analysis)
should suggest a theory which can be used in the process of
interpretation. In this part we should put
our own research results ( graphics, quantitative, qualitative findings.
Conclusion:
In the conclusion we make a summary of the text: we remind the purpose of the
paper, thesis, briefly summarize the arguments and point the arising
conclusions. The summary should demonstrate that the problem contained in the
title has been resolved, and the thesis defended.
Bibliography:
The paper must include a bibliography compiled in alphabetical order.

The notes included in this guide refer to the
type of term papers, that can be defined as a research paper.
Remember that you are writing a
paper that will be the basis for credit of
Olarex course, therefore it must meet two requirements: 1) it must
take the questions referring to those
worked in the classroom, and 2) must present your ability to connect research
(collecting, criticism and analysis of
the sources) with using the theory in interpretation process.
Do not be afraid to incorporate your
own ideas. Do not use the method of "scissors and glue" (rewriting
and combining of other text fragments).
Avoid plagiarism! This is the
inclusion of someone else’s text into your paper without any indication to the
true source. ... Citation of the other papers is not plagiarism, if you give the full reference to
the author and the writing.
