Remote Laboratory with Session 2

The activity consists in that the student discovers what logic gate has to be integrated in a digital circuit to ensure that the output is 1. The system offers the student a set of gates, and it chooses the one believed to be suitable to ensure the 1 in the exit. The solution is not unique.

The activity has the format of game with record, and thus, each student has a fixed time assigned (3 minutes) and during that period she has to try to guess the right result the maximum number of times, having into account that if she fails she loses her turn. At the end of each session, the student knows how many answers she has guessed and visiting the ranking she can see which the current record is and how many right answers her colleagues have.

The teacher can do the same

1. The access to WebLab-Deusto is the same as in previous activities, but in this case we have to choose the experiment ud-logic. Once in the experiment we have to click on Reserve.

2. Once in the experiment, you have to click on the ? over the main gate. When that is done, a select box is shown with the available gates to be inserted in that circuit position.

3. Now the student has to decide what gate is suitable to ensure a 1 in the exit, and for that, he has to perfectly now the behaviour of the logic gates. In our case, we have chosen an OR and clicked on "Send solution".

4. The message indicates that the answer is right and that a new circuit is available and waiting for my answer. The cycle is repeated continuously until the time is expired or a failure has occurred, moment when the round concludes. The student can access the game as many times as she wishes.

5. In our case when we retried, we made a mistake, the game is concluded and the system informs me about the points obtained: 1 in this case.

6. To know how many points have been obtained by other contesters and the game record, you have to activate "Check the ranking here" in the previous page or "winners page" in the main page.

Each student should aim to obtain a minimum of 5 points. How many times have you tried until achieving it? Which is your maximum score?
