Introduction

IDevice Icon Learning objectives

(1)    Design real experiments that will confirm the hypotheses; build a practice to work with laboratory materials and equipment; make a progress in terms of practical assembly work skills; take measurements properly; and draw conclusions based on the measurements taken.

(2)    Examine direct current circuits using terminology, formulas and analytical methods associated with direct current circuits´ concept.

(3)    Use basic concepts and general information about electricity.

(4)    Use specific symbols to represent electrical diagrams; comprehensive analyse devices and components involved in technical activity in order to explain how they work, their usage and control.

(5)    Understand the relationship between direct current, voltage and electrical resistance using the VISIR.

(6)    Using the VISIR carry out a research of the nature of alternating current and RC circuits.

(7)    Describe the phenomena that can be observed in problems that occur in daily life in terms of relevant identified variables.

IDevice Icon Methodology used

The methodology used on the course "How does current flow? Ohm's law" based on usage of remote laboratories delivering a teacher didactic resources in the form of educational material within the Internet environment.

This methodology will be a compromise between the Expository Methodology and Project Methodology, preparing and thus encouraging students to follow a teacher in a presentation of the themes. Thus, later students may conduct the activities and construction of proposed projects with a greater understanding and reasoning.

Intensive work is carried out in the classroom, combining both theory and practice. Exercises are proposed during class and, therefore, are reinforced a practical experimentation part.

The aim of this activity is to introduce to students in a pleasant way the basic principles of electricity. Using remote laboratory -this is a new approach - students will be able to interactively make practice and conclusion after it´s apply.

The learning module includes a set of activities and exercises to revise electricity-related matters
